All right, story time. So, couple weeks ago, I was photographing a conference, and I was doing headshots on the conference floor. I had a young lady come in, and she let me know that she was apprehensive about being photographed before we even got started. And I said, “No problem. We’ll take care of you.” So, we went through the session, we got her photos. As we were doing the review process, she’s letting me know, she’s like, “Hey,” uh, she’s telling me things about her appearance that she didn’t really like. And so we talked about it, we go through it, we took a few more photos, we got some things that we really liked, she was happy with. I edited them, and then I sent them out to her. Normally, that would be the end of my interaction with somebody in a situation like that for a conference. But something unique happened. About 2 hours later, she came back and told me. She said, “Josh, I updated my profile picture.” And she pulls out her phone, and she’s scrolling through all the comments, and she’s showing me the comments on her phone. And she said, “Look at all these lovely comments from everybody. All I did was change my profile picture, and everyone’s showering me in love.” And I just, I felt this great sense of warmth and accomplishment and just love that I could feel from all of it, and I’m, I’m watching this happen, and she’s telling me. She said, “I haven’t heard from some of these people in years. I have not seen their posts and, or commented on anything. I forgot I was friends with them, and here they are showering me in love.” And she just said, “I just wanted to say thank you for, for taking the time and, you know, walking me through everything, and getting the pictures that I really like. I really appreciate it.” It’s moments like these that everything comes full circle. Someone’s apprehensive about being photographed, but they have the courage to do it. We get the images, they update their profile picture, and then the world responds in the most lovely, positive way you can see. And so I just wanted to share this with everybody, is because this is what makes my job one of the most fulfilling things that I do, is photographing humans, and then they change the way that they look at themself, and they have such a positive experience that it changes their day, maybe even more than that. Who knows? It’s great to see this happen. And so if you’re apprehensive or you know somebody who’s apprehensive about being photographed, and they’re delaying it, putting it off, making excuses, whatever, here’s your moment. I’m encouraging you to reach out to your favorite photographer Las Vegas headshot photographer or find a great photographer, and get it done. These things can be life-changing, even if it’s just for the day. So, I just wanted to share this story with you about some positivity about how headshots can change how you look at yourself
